Twins Paradox - Time Dilation

time travel - twins paradox

Many of you know about the Twins Paradox and time dilation. We are all traveling through time at a rate of one second per second, but the twins paradox proves that we can vary the rate at which we travel through time. Point in fact, if you start with two twins. One stays on earth, the other travels to a nearby star at a speed close to light and returns. The twin that stayed on earth will be considerable older than the twin that went on the star voyage. This is because time slows down as we approach the speed of light.

At the speed of 99% of light time slows down to 1/7 the speed of that on earth. That means you age much more slowly. Still for time to almost stop you would have to go at almost the speed of light. The data of the Twins Paradox shows it is possible to time travel by changing the speed at which we move through time. The astronaut becomes a chrononaut that could live millions of earth years and see the far future.

Because time slows down when you travel at relativistic speed, we could literally travel to distant galaxies, but the problem is that time on earth still goes at normal speed so we would not be able to see our world. That civilization would be long gone.

How then do we travel backward through time?

If we could go faster than the speed of light then we would then observe a process known as time reversal. Clocks would spin backwards and we could literally visit our younger selves.

time slows down in the twins paradox According to Steven Gibbs you can time travel back and meet your former younger self but this is dangerous. Think about what happens when you put a microphone next to a speaker. Not a good idea. There are some videos of the HDR causing watches to move real fast. Not sure how...

Steven Gibbs claims that he built the HDR - Hyper Dimensional Resonator so that people could travel through time.
